Mobile Food Pantry Launch

When: Wed Mar 29 2017 @ 09:30am to 10:00am

Location: Cape Organization for Rights of the Disabled, 106 Bassett Ln, Hy

The Cape Organization for Rights of the Disabled invites you to CORD’s Mobile Food Pantry Launch. CORD has been working hard to get its Mobile Food Pantry up and running and is happy to announce that it is ready to make its first deliveries to people with disabilities in the mid to outer Cape.

Join CORD for our kickoff event on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the CORD office at 106 Bassett Lane in Hyannis before the bus heads off to Provincetown, Wellfleet and Orleans. On Thursday, CORD will be off to Chatham, Brewster, Dennis and Yarmouth for the second round of deliveries. CORD will be working on expanding to other towns on the Cape to reach out to the over 10,000 people with disabilities on the Cape and Islands experiencing food insecurity.

Why a Mobile Food Pantry for people with disabilities? While there are many food pantries across the Cape working to assist all people experiencing food insecurity, many people with disabilities are unable to access them for reasons such as lack of transportation, a PCA calling in sick or issues surrounding their disability. CORD’s Mobile Food Pantry is designed to supplement existing resources to close that gap.

CORD will be accepting donations of non-perishable food or money at this event… and at any other time. Please let us know if you will be attending this event!

Please call CORD at 508-775-8300 (v/tty) for more information on registering for, volunteering for or donating to CORD’s Mobile Food Pantry
