Spaulding Cape Cod Will Hold Adaptive Sports Fair May 20

SANDWICH, MA – People with disabling conditions can learn about options for enjoying sports and recreational activities at the Spaulding Adaptive Sports Fair that will be held Saturday, May 20 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital Cape Cod.

The fair will bring together people with physical and cognitive challenges, Spaulding therapists skilled in adaptive sports, and vendors of specialized equipment for an afternoon of demonstrations, activities and clinics.

A highlight of the event is an Adaptive Cycling Clinic. Therapists and adaptive cycling specialists will explain the types of cycles that are appropriate for the person’s challenges and fit the person to the right cycle. Pre-registration for this activity is strongly recommended.

Attendees will be able to play wheelchair basketball and tennis, try out adaptive sports equipment, see a demonstration of adaptive golf, and learn about adaptive archery, kayaking, sailing, and other recreational activities.
